We have upgraded Securus Text Connect to use units called Connects for sending text messages and eCards, so now you have packages of Connects instead of packages of messages. This is a new system at Securus for purchasing communications. Currently, Connects are only for Text Connect messages and eCards, but we plan to use Connects for additional services in the future. To check the price (in Connects) of Text Connect messages and eCards at your facility, please navigate to the Purchase section and click on Agency Rates.
The price to send a text message has not changed at most facilities with this upgrade. For example: Let’s say you used to purchase a package of 50 messages for $5, and the price of sending a message at the same facility is now 10 Connects. For the same $5, you will now purchase a package of 500 Connects. At 10 Connects each, 500 Connects = 50 text messages. You get the same 50 text messages for your same $5!
Pricing varies by location, but below is an example of a facility’s old and new packages. Here, it costs 10 Connects to send a text message.
