What options are available to receive calls from an incarcerated individual?
We have several phone accounts for customers to choose from.
- AdvanceConnect™ (our most popular) – which is a prepaid calling account. With an AdvanceConnect™ account all calls will connect to all phone types such as landline phones, cell phones, and Internet phones (such as VoIP carriers) pending facility restrictions. You can also add multiple phone numbers to your account so you can be reached wherever you are.
When creating an account or adding a phone number to your account and the number is already in our system, you may receive an error message. If you receive an error message, please feel free to call our Customer Service line at 972-734-1111.
- Securus Debit – this is an account that belongs to the incarcerated individual that can be used for them to make phone calls to anyone (pending facility restrictions) and pay for Securus services offered at their facility. They may be able to use the account to purchase stamps for messaging, tablet media (games, music, and movies) as well as Video Connect sessions. Service availability varies.
This is NOT a commissary account.
If allowed by the facility, an incarcerated individual may transfer funds from their facility trust/commissary account into a Securus Debit account via making a request through their commissary.
You may be able to contribute money to this account to help them purchase these communication services. Check with their facility.
Direct Bill account allows users to receive collect calls from an incarcerated individual and have the charges billed directly to them each month from Securus.
Direct Bill is best suited for Family and Friends whose incarcerated individual is incarcerated for longer than two years, an attorney, bail bondsman, consulate, social worker, other small business, or government agency.

You must pay your bill on or before the due date or your line will be blocked, and your Direct Bill Account will be automatically converted to a Family & Friends AdvanceConnect™ Account. You will not be able to receive calls until you pay the past due charges and then for all future calls you receive must be paid for in advance using a Family & Friends AdvanceConnect™.
Example-If you have a Direct Bill Account and your credit limit every month is $200.00. If you spend $100.00 a month on the calls you receive, you will be billed $100.00 and you can continue to receive calls and spend up to your $200.00 credit limit. If you spend all $200.00 in a month, you will not be able to receive any more calls until Securus receives a payment from you.
