You might experience an interruption when signing in to a Video Connect session with your loved one. Some users see a message asking them to install “Securus VRE,” but it doesn’t finish installing, which stops them from joining their video call.

This happened because of a recent Chrome update released by Google. While we work on making Chrome fully compatible with Video Connect again, the easiest way to keep your sessions running smoothly is to use another browser—like Microsoft Edge or Mozilla Firefox.

Switching browsers is simple:

  1. Download a different browser:
  2. Install the browser by following the on-screen instructions.
  3. Sign in and open Video Connect using the new browser.
