Yes! Securus Text Connect service is available at many facilities. With Text Connect, you purchase a package of “Connects” that you and your incarcerated loved one can share for sending text messages. To check Text Connect availability, just click on Facilities We Serve, then enter the state and facility.

Can I access Securus Text Connect on the website?
Yes! We have upgraded our system to allow access to all Text Connect functions on the Securus website in addition to the Securus Mobile app.
Can I send electronic greeting cards (eCards) in Securus Text Connect?
Yes! At some facilities, Securus Text Connect now supports sending eCards, which are electronic greeting cards you can send to your incarcerated loved one for holidays, special occasions, or just to say “Hi” in a unique way! Those of you who use our eMessaging will likely be familiar with our extensive catalog of eCards. To check facility pricing (in Connects) for text messages and eCards, please navigate to the Purchase section and click on Agency Rates.
Can we send pictures, emojis, GIFs or videos with Text Connect?
At this time, text-based messages can only support up to 160 characters per message or an eCard from the Securus eCard catalog (if permitted by facility). Pictures, emojis, GIFs or videos are not available within Text Connect.

How will I know when I have received a text?
When you use the Securus Mobile app, you will receive a push notification from Securus which informs you that you have received a Text Connect message, even if you are not logged in to the app. To make sure you’ll receive these alerts, please enable Securus Text Connect notifications in your phone’s settings.
How will my contact know when I’ve sent a text?
When the incarcerated access the Connect Me app on their tablets, they will see new Text Connect messages, and they can respond immediately, as long as there is enough remaining balance in your Text Connect account. (They will get a message indicating they are blocked from further texting if there’s an insufficient balance). I received an email inviting me to text an incarcerated individual. What should I do now?
If you would like to start up a conversation with the individual, please go to the Securus website or download the Securus Mobile app, sign up (or sign in), and select Securus Text Connect to get started. If you do not wish to receive this type of invitation from incarcerated individuals, you may opt out here.
